Arrests made on the murder of Ashley Beauclair
On Sunday, October 22, 2023, at approximately 1810 hours, the Avoyelles 911 Communication Center received a report of a body found in the Blue Town Community north of Marksville, LA. The Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office (APSO) located the body of the unknown female found in a wooded area near a field. APSO Detectives investigated the death. With the assistance of the LSU Forensic Anthropology and Computer Enhancement Services (FACES) Laboratory, and the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab, the body was later positively identified as that of 38-year-old Ashley Beauclair of Marksville, LA. Further investigation by APSO resulted in the identification of the suspects involved.
On June 18, 2024, the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested three subjects in connection to the death of Ashley Beauclair.
They are as follows:
- 25-year-old Sonny Ray Dauzat of Effie, LA – 2nd Degree Murder, Criminal Conspiracy and Obstruction of Justice; Bond set at 1.1 million dollars.
- 29-year-old Keion Joseph Roy of Moreauville, LA – Criminal Conspiracy and Obstruction of Justice; Bond set at $200,000.00
- 24-year-old Sophie Mae Badeaux of Marksville, LA – Criminal Conspiracy and Obstruction of Justice; Bond set at $200,000.00
On June 20, 2024, the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested another subject in connection to the death of Ashley Beauclair. Her information is as follows:
- 20-year-old Morgan Lin Heims of Branson, Missouri – Criminal Conspiracy and Obstruction of Justice; Bond set at $200,000.00
