On August 3, 2021, a Multi-Agency Operation consisting of the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office, Louisiana Attorney General’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Louisiana State Police, the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service/U.S. Marshals Task Force executed search warrants pertaining to active child pornography investigations. The operation resulted in arrests by the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office of the following people:
- Glenn Batiste Jr., a 20-year-old male subject of Mansura, LA. Subject was charged with the offense of 14:81.1 Pornography Involving Juveniles (20 counts). Bond was set at $250,000.00.
- Christopher R. Ortego, a 23-year-old male subject, Subject was charged with the offense of 14:81.1 Pornography Involving Juveniles (1 count). Bond was set at $250,000.00.
The investigations are still on-going. More evidence and charges may be forthcoming. Both subjects were booked into the APSO DC-1 Jail Facility.
Sheriff David L. Dauzat would like to thank the team of dedicated professional Law Enforcement Agents that worked together to apprehend these offenders, and safely remove them from the streets of our Parish.
