Arrest made on the murder of Gary P. Normand
On Monday, July 22, 2024, The Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office (APSO) responded to a report of a deceased person at a residence on LA Highway 1192 in Marksville LA. The deceased subject was later identified as 63-year-old Gary P. Normand of Marksville. The preliminary investigation revealed suspicious circumstances. Further investigation by APSO resulted in the identification of the suspect involved.
On July 30, 2024, the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a subject in connection to the death of Gary Normand. The subject arrested was 19-year-old Jacob E. Michot of Marksville, LA. He was arrested for the offenses of Principal to 2nd Degree Murder and Possession of Stolen Things. The bond was set at 1.1 million dollars. The subject is still in custody at APSO.
This is an active and ongoing investigation. More arrests will be forthcoming.
