Registered Sex Offender Arrested Again
In July 2024, the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office (APSO) began investigating a complaint of indecent behavior with a juvenile allegedly committed by a Registered Sex Offender. The investigation by APSO Detectives initially revealed that 31-year-old Sean Dupuy of Marksville, LA committed the offenses of Sexual Battery of a Minor (3 counts), Simple Kidnapping, Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes, Computer-Aided Solicitation of a Minor, Indecent Behavior with Juveniles and Aggravated Crime Against Nature. Sean Dupuy is a Registered Sex Offender convicted in 2013 for Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile (13-year-old Victim) and in the past he has also been arrested for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender twice (2014 and 2015).
On July 31, 2024, the 12th Judicial District Court issued an arrest warrant for the aforementioned offenses. After Dupuy failed or refused to turn himself in, he was entered into the FBI’s national database as “Wanted” by APSO. On August 6, 2024, Dupuy was arrested for those offenses, but the investigation was still ongoing.
Further investigation, including the execution of a search warrant, revealed Dupuy also committed the offenses of Possession of a firearm or carrying a concealed weapon by a person convicted of certain felonies (2 counts), Failure to Register and Notify as a Sex Offender or Child Predator, and Unlawful Use of a Social Networking Website. On August 7, 2024, the 12th Judicial District Court issued an arrest warrant for the aforementioned additional offenses.
A case review conducted by the APSO Sex Offender Registrar revealed Dupuy had committed another offense of Failure to Register and Notify as a Sex Offender or Child Predator. On August 8, 2024, the 12th Judicial District Court issued another arrest warrant for the aforementioned offense of Failure to Register.
Dupuy was subsequently arrested for those offenses and booked at the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office. The total Bond for all offenses was subsequently set at $215,000.00. On August 9, 2024, Dupuy made bond and was released.
The APSO investigation is still ongoing.
