Body Found in Hamburg Community Near Levee
On Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at approximately 1516 hours, the Avoyelles Parish 911 Communication Center received a 911 call reporting the deceased body of a white male subject being found in the Hamburg Loop area. The Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office (APSO) observed the body in a wooded and vegetated area east of the Levee. The Avoyelles Parish Coroner’s Office was notified and responded to the scene. Further investigation conducted by APSO and the Coroner revealed the body was that of 27-year-old Kerry Kirby Jr. (aka “Kerry Kent” or “Johnny Bravo”) of Hamburg, LA. He was reported missing on August 30, 2023. The body was sent for an autopsy and toxicology. There is no evidence of foul play at this time. APSO Detectives and the Avoyelles Coroner’s Office continue to jointly investigate the matter to determine the cause and manner of death.
The investigation is ongoing.
