APSO Correctional Supervisor Arrested
In early 2024, the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office (APSO) DC-1 Jail Facility Warden received information about possible criminal offenses committed by an APSO Corrections Lieutenant who was employed at the APSO DC-1 Jail Facility. A preliminary investigation including surveillance monitoring was immediately initiated.
On April 12, 2024, the investigation revealed that 43-year-old Travis Juan Johnson committed the offenses of Malfeasance in Office and Introduction of Contraband into a Correctional Facility. Johnson was employed as a Corrections Lieutenant and was a Shift Supervisor in the APSO DC-1 Jail Facility.
On April 12, 2024, upon a finding of probable cause, an Arrest Warrant was issued by a 12th Judicial District Court Judge. Pursuant to the Arrest Warrant, Johnson was arrested by APSO Deputies for Malfeasance in Office and Introduction of Contraband into a Correctional Facility and booked at the APSO DC-1 Jail Facility. The bond was set at twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00). His employment at APSO was immediately terminated.
