MAN ARRESTED ON SEVERAL SEX OFFENSES AGAINST JUVENILES
On December 10, 2021, the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office (APSO) received a complaint from the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) of an allegation of sexual abuse committed against an adolescent female.
On January 13, 2022, further investigation by APSO resulted in the arrest of 56-year-old Jeffrey Waggy of Hessmer, LA. Waggy was arrested for the offenses of Louisiana Revised Statutes 14:43.1.C (2) Sexual Battery-Persons under 13 (3 Counts), and 14:130.1 Obstruction of Justice. Bond was set at $25,000.00. On January 17, 2022, he was released on bond.
On February 1, 2022, further investigation, which included forensic analysis of devices seized, resulted in a second arrest for the offenses of Louisiana Revised Statutes 14:81.1 Pornography Involving Juveniles (50 Counts), 14:81.2. D (1) Molestation of Juveniles person under (13), 14:81.2. A (1) Molestation of Juveniles (3 Counts) and 14:46.3. A (4) Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes. Bond was set at $400,000.00. He is still in custody at this time.
