08/01/2023 – Wanted Fugitives Captured
The Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office (APSO) and the United States Marshall Fugitive Task Force were actively working together to find and apprehend 49-year-old David W. Simpson II of Ellis Mills Road, Hessmer, LA.
The APSO investigation revealed on Friday, July 21, 2023, Simpson II committed the following offenses:
False Imprisonment (Felony)
Domestic Abuse Battery by Strangulation (Felony)
Aggravated Battery (Felony)
First-Degree Rape (Felony)
Second Degree Sexual Battery (Felony)
APSO Detectives received information and notified the U.S. Marshals Task Force. Acting on that information and further investigation, and after tracking the fugitive for days, the U.S. Marshals took Simpson II into custody this morning in Hessmer, LA. Simpson II was arrested and booked at APSO DC-1 on the aforementioned charges. Simpson II was also arrested and booked for the following offenses:
Two (2) Contempt of Court Failure to Appear Arrest Warrants – Illegal Possession of Stolen Firearms (Avoyelles Parish)
Domestic Abuse Battery (Concordia Parish Arrest Warrant)
Another wanted fugitive was found in the company of David Simpson II. 43-year-old Nikki Lynn Bryant was wanted by Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) in Texas for Contempt of Court Failure to Appear on Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substances 1st Degree Felony 1. MCSO seeks to extradite Bryant back to Texas to face the charges. She was also arrested and booked at APSO DC-1.
