Avoyelles Parish Deputy Arrested for Malfeasance

In April 2023, Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations/Alexandria Field Office (LSP AFO) received evidence of malfeasance committed by a deputy with the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office.  According to the provided information, 54-year-old Connie Thomas of Marksville, distributed law enforcement sensitive information to a subject of an active criminal investigation.

As a result of information obtained during the investigation, LSP AFO secured an arrest warrant for Thomas.  Earlier today, Thomas was booked into the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Jail for malfeasance in office.

The Louisiana State Police will serve as the lead investigative agency.  The investigation remains active and ongoing.  There is no further information available at this time.

Note: All persons named in a criminal investigation, or arrested and charged with a crime, have not yet been convicted of that criminal offense, and all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
