RAPE OF A JUVENILE On May 1, 2023, the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a complaint of possible rape of a 13-year-old juvenile in the Effie, LA area.  Further investigation by APSO Patrol Deputies and Detectives revealed that 36-year-old Jonathan Ross Desselle of Effie, LA committed the offense of Louisiana Revised Statute 14:42 First

Body Recovered On Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at approximately 1045 hours, the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office (APSO) located a body north of Bunkie, LA in the Bayhills area.  The Louisiana State Police Crime Lab assisted APSO at the scene.  The Avoyelles Parish Coroner’s Office was notified.  The body was sent for an autopsy and toxicology.

Rosetta Daniels Jackson February 12, 1972 – May 9, 2023   Deputy Rosetta D. Jackson of Mansura, LA., passed away at the age of 51 on Saturday, May 9, 2023.  Rosetta was an employee of the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office (APSO) since May 2021. She served as a Booking Officer and assisted our Medical Staff.
