On July 7, 2021, the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a complaint of possible indecent behavior with a 13-year-old juvenile female in the Mansura, LA area. Further investigation by APSO Patrol Deputies and Detectives revealed that 35-year-old Joseph R. Warren of Mansura, LA committed the offenses of Louisiana Revised Statute 14:42.A(4) Rape “Persons under 13 years old” and LRS 14:81.2 Molestation of a Juvenile “Persons under 13 years old”.
On July 8, 2021, 12th Judicial District Court Judge William Bennett issued an arrest warrant for the offenses of LA R.S. 14:42.A(4) Rape “Persons under 13 years old” and LRS 14:81.2D(1) Molestation of a Juvenile “Persons under 13 years old”.
On July 9, 2021, Joseph R. Warren was arrested pursuant to a 12th Judicial District Court arrest warrant for the aforementioned offenses and booked at the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office DC-1 Jail Facility. Bond was set at $250,000.00. On July 14, 2021, Warren made bond and was released.
On July 22, 2021, the Grand Jurors of the 12th Judicial District in Avoyelles Parish found Bills of Indictment and issued True Bills charging Joseph R. Warren with the offense of LRS 14:42 First Degree Rape (5 counts).
