09.10.2021 REMEMBERING 9/11 IN AVOYELLES PARISH

Sheriff David L. Dauzat would like to remind the People of Avoyelles of the tragedy that happened on September 11, 2001.  The attacks of 9/11 were intended to break and destroy us, but we came together.  We had to learn and change.  We had to get better and be better.  Strong relationships between law enforcement officers and the communities we serve are critical to maintaining public safety and preventing acts of terrorism.  Our Nation relies on the cooperation of community members and concerned citizens to provide information to law enforcement about crime and suspicious activity in their communities and neighborhoods.  We must work together to prevent such attacks on our fellow Americans.  Working together we can do great things.

On September 10, 2021, Sheriff David L. Dauzat shared the company of Heroes, distinguished guest, firemen, police, ambulance crews, other first responders and the people that support them, all coming together to honor the fallen and remember 9/11.  The Sound of Taps being played.  The Salutes.  A diverse group of people coming together as one.  Children waving flags. He said it was a heartwarming and humbling experience.  He also wanted to personally thank all of those people and the agencies that participated in the 9/11 events.

Sheriff David L. Dauzat wanted to share a collage of photos from the events.  Here they are:
