REGISTERED SEX OFFENDER ARRESTED FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
In mid-March 2022, a collaborative effort by the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) resulted in an investigation of a suspect downloading child pornography. Further investigation revealed the suspect was a convicted sex offender.
The Initial Investigation revealed 41-year-old Deadrick Taylor of Cottonport, LA appeared to have committed sex offenses involving child pornography. The investigation also revealed Taylor was a convicted sex offender currently registered in Avoyelles Parish stemming from charges in January of 2007, in which a True Bill of Indictment was found against Taylor for Molestation of a Juvenile.
On March 23, 2022, the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office executed search warrants pertaining to the active child pornography investigation. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Deadrick Taylor for the offense of Louisiana Revised Statute 14:81.1 PORNOGRAPHY INVOLVING JUVENILES (100 Counts). Taylor was booked into the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office DC-1 Jail Facility. His bond was set at one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00). Taylor is still incarcerated at this time.
This investigation is still on-going. More charges may be forthcoming.
